I recently went to our local Marshall’s and ohhhhhhh, did I find some cute stuff that I just had to share with you!!! I am very much a minimalist. I like things neat, uncluttered and I like clean lines. I like everything to have balance. So, before I purchase something I imagine the space in my head and decide whether or not it would compliment the area. I tend to gravitate towards modern decor and did not get these chairs, but LOVED them!
I am lucky enough to have 2 of these cool, low profile chairs, below, Â that were my Grandpa’s. Â They rock, swivel, & have a lot of special meaning behind them. Â We were lucky enough to rescue them and put some love into them!
Near the chairs I discovered this wire basket that I could get away with, next to our modern decor. I thought that would be perfect for my dining room table to hold my lemons(you can’t tell but several of the lemons have bite marks out of them, thanks kids),but I love how the basket looks on the table!
I then spyed this adorable silver pineapple that I thought would go perfect for an entryway table. Â I’m pretty limited to what decor I can actually set up, due to having young children. Â I have to go through the checklist first before I buy any: 1) Does it have sharp edges that’s going to lacerate a face/arm/leg?, 2) how easily breakable is it(can it withstand a body slam to the floor by a kid)?, & 3) are the kids going to think its a toy for themselves? Â Well Mr pineapple passed(I Â hope anyways).
I absolutely love having yellow in the living room and kitchen area in the spring/summer months, and we could have used a few more kitchen towels, so I found these:
I was walking by the aisle and spotted the absolutely perfect stool for my makeup vanity, then told myself no, then circled around the next aisle and found myself in front of the vanity stool yet again. Â It was calling me, it was on rollers, velvety smooth, also has air shocks(as I call it). So she came home with me and it looks gorgeous in the master bath. (update: the kids have already discovered the lever that makes it go up and down, which is NOT COOL)
I also snagged this modern faux plant for my sink counter in the master bath. Â I was tired of looking at the candle that was originally there, that really was only there for looks and never got lit!
Honestly, the whole reason I went to Marshalls to begin with is because my 2 year old dropped my only popsicle mold I had and I needed more and I knew they had them, and while there, you can see why I got a little side tracked!
I am IN LOVE with making different homeade popsicles for the kids this summer. Â They’re healthy, they love them and you can even serve them up for breakfast! A popsicle for breakfast, who knew? Â I discovered the Norpro and the Ozera molds are a perfect option as well.
Last, I really wanted to share this, because I used it the other night and my hair is INCREDIBLY soft after 1 use and it smells AMAZING!!!! If you have a chance to get your hands on some, I would highly recommend it.
That’s it! I hope you enjoyed my Marshall’s haul and got some great ideas! Â Check back soon for an inside look of our home and more of how I have styled it.
